A 1920s-flavoured geometric with a very small x-height and long ascenders — vintage rather than modern. That makes it a natural fit for boutique, salon and hospitality marks.
Geometric sans-serifs are the default choice for app icons for a good reason: their circular bowls and even stroke weight fill a square container predictably, and they hold their shape under aggressive downscaling. The trade-off is distinctiveness. Because a geometric face is built from circles and straight lines, its round letters — O, C, G, Q — converge on the same silhouette, and a single capital in one geometric face looks much like the same capital in another. If you choose a geometric sans, put the identity in the colour, the container shape, or in a letter with diagonals rather than expecting the typeface itself to carry it.
The tiny x-height means lowercase letters occupy a fraction of the frame; use capitals.
A favicon is rendered at 16 × 16 pixels. That is roughly the area of a single character of this paragraph, and it is where most typographic decisions stop mattering and start breaking. The reliable test is not to zoom out of a large preview — browsers resample that far more kindly than a real favicon pipeline does — but to export the actual favicon.ico and look at it in a browser tab.
