Is Sacramento a good choice for a logo?

A monoline connecting script — even stroke width throughout, based on 1950s American sign painting. That makes it a natural fit for retro-casual marks that need a script without the contrast problem.

Scripts and handwriting faces are the hardest class to use in a square icon, because they are designed as connected running text and a single isolated letter loses the connective rhythm that makes them work. Entry and exit strokes stick out of the letterform and get clipped by the container; contrast between thick and thin is usually high; and the resulting silhouette is far less distinctive than a printed capital. If you want a script mark, use a monoline script rather than a high-contrast one, scale it generously, and accept that it will not survive favicon size.

What to watch for at small sizes

Monoline means very little ink; go large or the letter looks like a stray hairline.

A favicon is rendered at 16 × 16 pixels. That is roughly the area of a single character of this paragraph, and it is where most typographic decisions stop mattering and start breaking. The reliable test is not to zoom out of a large preview — browsers resample that far more kindly than a real favicon pipeline does — but to export the actual favicon.ico and look at it in a browser tab.
